South Crete

Villa Casa Blue is located 45 km south of Rethymnon, in the area of Agios Pavlos and is built on a seaside slope leading to a beautiful, isolated beach.

·    100m east of the villa we meet the beaches of Foinikidia, Anifora and Prasonissi.

·    1.5 km from the villa, is located the seaside settlement of Agios Pavlos. In Agios Pavlos Beach you can find small hotel units, restaurants, taverns, beach bars, bars for late night drinks and music, water sports and mini market. Visitors often prefer to stay and eat at Agios Pavlos area, but swim or do yoga on the near idyllic beach with sand dunes. The sand dunes of Agios Pavlos are one of the most romantic places in the world, where you can enjoy a fantastic sunset.

·     2 km from the villa is located the picturesque village Saktouria with traditional cafés and mini market.

·      Triopetra beach is at a distance of 3 km from the villa, behind the west end of the bay. Triopetra consists of two beaches, separated by a small peninsula. At the edge of the peninsula, in the sea, there are three majestic rocks, from which the region takes its name. On these two beaches you will find traditional taverns, cafeterias and beach bars. The beach of Triopetra is also known for the yoga classes that are take place during the summer months on the sand.

·     The cosmopolitan village Agia Galini is located 20 km east of the villa. Agia Galini was a fishing village in the old days and is now a popular seaside resort.  Thnaks to its beaches,  small harbor and picturesque straits, full of taverns and tourist shops, it attracts many tourists every year. In Agia Galini you will have many options for dining, entertainment, medical services, shopping, banks, water sports, camping as well as pharmacy, post office etc.

·      20 km north of the villa is located the picturesque village of Spili with supermarket, shops, banks, post office, Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE), Health Center, pharmacy, Police Station and shops with local products and traditional food. In the center of the village, in the square with the two centuries-old plane trees, there is Kefalovrisi, a row of 25 fountains (taps) in the form of a lion's head, from the mouths of which flow 330 cubic meters of water per hour, rich in iron and at a constant temperature of 13 ° C. Around Kefalovrisi there are taverns with genuine Cretan cuisine, picturesque cafes and folk art shops. The rich vegetation of the village is due to the full of trouts  river flowing in the south, which is accessible by a route of great natural beauty. The attractions of the village also include the numerous traditional watermills, that are preserved, and mainly one of them which is still in operation.

·     30 km west of the villa, near Spili, starts the beautiful Kourtaliotiko Gorge. This gorge ends in the famous palm forest of Preveli. Preveli beach is definitely the most famous beach in South Crete, as it attracts thousands of visitors every summer. On the banks of the river there is a large grove of palm trees, which gives the area a sense of African landscape. You can walk along the river, under the shade of palm and other trees, and begin to climb the magnificent gorge. You can swim in the cold ponds formed in the gorge. The river flows into a sandy beach with very cool water and pebbles in the bottom of the sea. In the eastern part of the beach there is a beautiful rock reminiscent of a mast.
